The first edition of SBP took place in February of 2018 in Futaleufú, a town located in the northern region of Chilean Patagonia where rivers are worldwide recognized for the practice of kayaking. In this opportunity, the course had 6 participants who were provided with all necessary support to make progress and become ambassadors of the program motivating and inspiring more people to lead a life full of well-being near the river.
During the course the kids not only had the chance to work and improve their kayaking skills but they were also introduced to basic safety and rescue procedures to start building a wide and solid foundation. They also enjoyed other activities such as rafting and double kayaking down the classic “puente a puente” section.
The first edition of the SBP had a lot of impact not only on this kids but also on the entire community of Futaleufú. Parents and friends fully committed to the program providing help with logistics, safety, meals and anything else that required a local attention.
We want to special thank our main sponsors Immersion Research and Watershed Drybags for providing all the gear needed to keep the kids nice and dry.
